Ammirare
Actions and Methodologies for Improving Beach Resilience
The Project
The AMMIRARE project aims to make the beach system more resilient and resistant to the risks of climate change through nature-based solutions. Problems such as coastal erosion, sediment loss, and beach width reduction threaten coastal communities and their natural and economic capital. The goal is to improve the resilience of beaches to the effects of climate change through pilot actions based on the concept of nature-based solutions (NbS) integrated with innovative monitoring systems and forecasting tools.
The main beneficiaries of these initiatives are public authorities, SMEs, citizens, tourists, and research institutions, who will thus be able to contribute to more coordinated and sustainable coastal management.
