The general objective of this research is the development and validation of algorithms for the recovery of remotely sensed data from radar altimeter in coastal areas, estuaries, rivers and lakes.

The issues addressed recently concerned:
a) analysis of remote sensing data from the radar altimeter
b) quality control of remote sensing data from the radar altimeter
c) development of coastal altimetric products
d) validation of coastal altimetric products
e) transfer of know-how in the field of remote sensing to developing countries in Africa and Asia
f) synergy with remote sensing data from optical sensors

The ongoing activity continues the analysis of remotely sensed data from the radar altimeter and the development of new methods and algorithms for data processing in the coastal context and in inland waters (lakes and rivers). Synergies with remote sensing data from optical sensors are also being investigated.
