I am a marine biologist and in 2017 I’ve obtained a Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Pisa with a thesis on  Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) dynamics in rivers and coastal areas. Between 2017 and 2019 I had a postdoc position at the Sejong University in Seoul (South Korea) working on DOM in the Arctic.

Currently, I have a research grant at the  Biophysics Institute of the Italian National Research Council, to develop a fluorescence sensor for drinking waters within the SENSOR project (SENSOR).

My research interests focus on the dynamics of dissolved organic matter in the different aquatic compartments. In particular, I am interested in DOM along the river to ocean aquatic continuum and the impact that future changes will have on DOM dynamics and therefore on the aquatic environment.

I am also involved in several outreach activities, mostly for kids.
